Item Description

2 Bottles of Marianot Garblet Barolo DOCG 2014, Piedmont, Italy: retail $83 each bottle: The Barolo - king of wines and wine of kings - has been celebrated as the Nebbiolo’s best product for centuries. It is historically linked to the Unification of Italy - the Rinascimento in Italy. Well-known politicians of the time and the Royal family - the Savoia - have relished of this great wine that today more than ever is a prize for the enology. Complex full-body structure and great potential of aging are only few of the amazing features of the Barolo. The nose has violets, cherry essence, bramble and leather.  On the palate it is fruity, lighter than expected and a touch dry.  Blueberry is the primary flavor alongside some cedar plank and those violets.  The tannins start to really grip on the mid palate to go along with the blue fruit compote and wood. Enjoy this wine with veal chops on the grill, a heavy duty pasta dish or perhaps lamb or beef.  If you have patience, this one will mellow nicely for a few years and be presentable from 2024- 2030.
