The Ruth Bancroft Garden is a nonprofit public dry garden that was planted by Mrs. Ruth Bancroft in 1972. The Garden was opened to the public in the early '90s. The Ruth Bancroft Garden is a historic garden nestled in the heart of Walnut Creek's Ygnacio Valley. We are known for our extensive cactus and succulent collection, as well as California natives, Mediterranean plants, and plants native to Australia and South Africa.
The Garden offers an array of workshops, tours and seminars for the professional and the home gardener. These programs range from special tours of the Garden to all-day Dry Garden Design Seminars. Find these programs on our Events Page.
