Item Description

Large Cloisonné bowl is a steal and complements the small bowl also listed in this auction.  Items such as these sell for hundreds more!

Cloisonné is the traditional handicraft technique for decorating metalwork objects that have been practiced in China for centuries. This elegant cloisonné bowl features gorgeous peony flowers atop a vivid cobalt blue backdrop. The complex line works across the entire bowl's body was meticulously created by utilizing the Cloisonné technique of wire bending in the cloud pattern. Vibrant bird and flower motif make it an elegant showpiece wherever it is placed. It's a one-of-a-kind item to collect. Matching wooden stand is included.

This bowl and the other smaller matching Cloisonné bowl listing are mid-century purchased at auction in Hampton Virginia in 1989.  Donated from a local family estate to the Bayou Teche Museum Silent Auction.
