Item Description
Entre Deux Mères
2010 -- 2015 Drinkward Peschon “Entre Deux Mères”
Entre Deux Mères literally translates from the French as “Between Two Mothers”. The friendship between world-class winemakers Lisa Drinkward and Françoise Peschon was initiated through their children’s activities and grew through a shared love of wine, work, and play. Each had careers separately; at the time Françoise was winemaker for Araujo Estate and recipient of the Achievement Award from the Women Winemakers of California and Lisa was involved in all aspects of winemaking at Behrens Family Winery with husband Les Behrens.
In September of 2000, the two were fortunate enough to secure a few tons of Cabernet Sauvignon from a small grower in Oakville. The grapes were hand-picked and sorted, and crushed and fermented in small lots. The project had begun. The two believe that gentle handling and minimalist intervention in winemaking yields unique wines that are elegant and balanced – and a true expression of their roots.
Now in its 20th year, their project remains exactly as it was originally envisioned: small, hands-on, and honest. This Entre Deux Mères label is a blend of fruit from three Napa Valley vineyards in Calistoga, St. Helena and Oak Knoll. The result is a Cabernet Sauvignon that is pure, elegant and distinctively beautiful: a wine that has balance and grace to drink in its youth or to allow to age gracefully in the cellar.
These six vintages, 2010-2015, exemplify the latter: having aged gracefully in controlled cellar conditions, they are happily awaiting your enjoyment. And they will come to you in their own wooden box.
