Premiere Napa Valley is a private annual wine auction open only to members of the wine trade -- who in turn make the bottles available to their customers and collectors around the world.

Winemakers entering wine in the Premiere can be highly creative, showcasing a very special part of their vineyard, an unusual grape variety, clone, or blend, or entering into a collaborative effort with another winemaker. The resulting micro-lot wines are one-of-a-kind; once each tiny allocation is gone it will never again be replicated.

Gary Fisch of Gary’s Wine & Marketplace, a leading New Jersey-based wine and gourmet food retailer, opened his first west coast store in St. Helena, California in 2019. Lucky for all of us, Gary is also one of the top bidders at the Napa Valley Vintners’ annual Premiere Napa Valley, which he’s been attending for more than 20 years. Gary will dig deep and come up with 6 different bottles from his Premiere collections for a private tasting with 8 lucky people. He will share his passion for great wine and the story in each bottle.

Afterwards, all 8 of you will join Gary for dinner at The Charter Oak, one of St. Helena’s favorite spots for dining. The Charter Oak, with Michelin-starred Chef Christopher Kostow at the helm, is centered on a celebratory, family-style dining experience, with simple, approachable, and seasonal food. The menu reflects the products of the Napa Valley through an elemental cooking style, with a hearth at its center, and by highlighting one or two ingredients at a time.

“After visiting year after year for Premiere Napa Valley, I am thrilled to have a permanent place in St. Helena,” says Gary. “It felt right to open our first location on the West Coast among so many incredible winemakers, vintners, and friends."

The order of dinner and the tasting of PNV wines may be switched, depending on the date.

Collection of California Sales Tax: Unless a valid resale permit is presented to the seller prior to the sale, purchaser will be required to pay all state and local retail sales taxes applicable on the date of sale. Resale permits will be accepted only for businesses that are reasonably expected to buy and sell wine. Sales tax will be collected on the purchase price of each lot which contains tangible goods.
