That is the lovely paradox behind Robert Frost’s famous poem, The Mending Wall, which relates the story of neighbors who come together because of a mutual wall. This is the spirit behind Mending Wall Winery, a blissful venue that surprises by delivering so much more than is visible from its exterior.  It’s a casually elegant space that celebrates wine as a unifying force, that special bonding elixir that brings together friends and family, provoking good feelings and laughter.

And so, this auction lot celebrates the spirit of bringing people together. The winemakers who have been working with, supporting - and who are supported by - Thomas Rivers Brown will proudly pour their wines over the course of the evening and regale you with tales of their love of wine and winemaking. Among them: Tim Beranek, Anne Fogerty, John Giannini, Andy Jones, Dan Ricciato, Will Segui, and of course the man who brought them all together, Thomas Rivers Brown.

On display from each of these winemakers will be their personal projects, including and not limited to, Cresta Velia, Spinning Gold, Marnet, Belharra, William and Mary, Young Hagen, and Mending Wall. And there can always be a surprise thrown in, too!

These remarkable wines demand an equally sensational dinner. In keeping with the theme of bringing together the best, Chef Josh Mitchell, owner of Napa Valley Heritage Catering will bring together the very best locally grown produce, his home-grown heritage pigs, and other quality products to bring you a meal for the ages. Josh has worked at some of the most respected local kitchens -- he put on his apron here 20 years ago, and continues to call our valley home.

Collection of California Sales Tax: Unless a valid resale permit is presented to the seller prior to the sale, purchaser will be required to pay all state and local retail sales taxes applicable on the date of sale. Resale permits will be accepted only for businesses that are reasonably expected to buy and sell wine. Sales tax will be collected on the purchase price of each lot which contains tangible goods.
