--Two 750 ml of Paula Kornell Sparkling Wine, Blanc de Noir
--Four etched champagne flutes for toasting and enjoying

Paula Kornell is carrying on the family legacy in her own brilliant way with her new eponymous line, Paula Kornell Sparkling Wines.  She is reviving a Napa Valley tradition begun by her father in the mid 1900s, pioneering winemaker Hanns Kornell of Kornell Champagne Cellars. Hanns Kornell was the first in the Napa Valley to make sparkling wine using the tradional Méthode Champenoise.

The launch of her own wine brand in partnership with Vintage Wine Estates brings Paula full circle. She is a community leader with 30-plus years of experience in the wine industry, and has consulted with esteemed wine brands and appellations throughout Napa and Sonoma Counties. Now, as principal of Kornell Wine Company, she says …“I’m so excited to present something intrinsically linked to the legacy of my parents.”

Her inaugural sparkling vintage, which came out in 2019, comes from fruit grown in Los Carneros, the coolest area of Napa Valley. This delicate, elegant, and sophisticated sparkling wine of primarily Pinot Noir fruit is a stunning debut. The approachable, quietly generous nose enjoys aromas of crisp green apples, lemon zest, succulent pears, tender peaches, freshly baked pastry, and brioche.

The symbol that marks every bottle of Paula Kornell Sparkling Wine – two men carrying an enormous grape cluster between them – is a nod to her father, Hanns Kornell. All Hanns Kornell “Champagnes” carried the symbol of Israelites carrying a grape cluster because for Hanns, personally, California was his "promised land."

Enjoy these bottles with food and friends, in a specially etched glass that is one of Paula's favorites.

Each bottle she produces is a celebration of the bounty of the Napa Valley and the proud legacy from which she comes.
