Last winter, the acclaimed Good Chance production of The Jungle sold out at St. Ann’s Warehouse. This Spring, after taking London, New York, and San Francisco by storm, this multi-award-winning production returns to St. Ann’s, launching a U.S. tour.
Take a seat in the Afghan Flag restaurant. Break bread with the resilient refugees and volunteers who, in a freezing, inhospitable environment, built a warm, self-governing society out of nothing. The Jungle evokes an improvised refugee camp in Calais, France where thousands of adults and children fleeing drought, war, and civil strife sought their “good chance” passage to the U.K. By putting a human face on a global crisis, The Jungleasks why those in severe need must face great danger when crossing borders in their search for safety. The Jungle offers empathy and compassion in place of fear and punishment.
St. Ann’s Warehouse plays a vital role on the global cultural landscape as an artistic home for international companies of distinction, American avant-garde masters and talented emerging artists ready to work on a grand scale.
