Item Description
One 2016 1.5 L Corison Cabernet Sauvignon, signed by Cathy Corison
Corison Winery is a small family farm producing delicious Cabernet Sauvignon for over three decades.
Known for power and elegance, Corison wines are balanced to grace the table and are recognized throughout the world for their longevity and consistency.
Great grapes make great wine. Cathy Corison's winemaking is largely non-interventionist, with gentleness at every step. Everything she does is geared toward getting all the goodness out of the grapes and leaving anything undesirable behind. When fermentation is complete, the wines go down to small French oak barrels to spend the next 20 months undergoing the magical alchemy of aging.
2016 Corison Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
In 2016, April kick-started a nearly perfect growing season, followed by a moderate July and cool August. Typical of Napa Valley Autumn weather, a gentle, late heat spell brought the vintage home. From veraison to harvest, there were no scorching days -- and nighttime lows were cool all summer, preserving good natural acidity.
In Cathy’s words … “The 2016 Napa Valley Cabernet is redolent with bright red currant, blueberry, tart cherry and darker plums, cassis and blackberry fruit. It is wildly complex. The fruit aromatics are complexed by baking spices and floral notes including dried rose petals and violets. Varietal dried herbs add yet another dimension. An alluring yin of minerality and snappy natural acidity play off against the yang of a broad, luscious mouthfeel.”
And you can bet that this magnum will be deliciously memorable in every way!
