This auction item is for a free session of our Pre-College Musical Theatre Intensive
JULY 20 – AUGUST 8, 2020
 
Introduction
Seacoast Rep and the Portsmouth Academy of Performing Arts are pleased to present a 3-week course for the serious musical theatre performer for ages 13-19.  This teen musical theatre intensive is focused on zeroing in on the unique qualities of each student to help them shine in the audition room, the rehearsal room, and on the stage.  Each day’s rigorous schedule is packed with performance based courses taught by working musical theatre professionals, workshops and masterclasses by Broadway performers (and Seacoast Rep’s resident and out-of-town artists), elective dance classes, along with trips and overnight experiences – from campfires and retreat days around the seacoast to a trip to NYC to see a Broadway show! 

Students will end the program fully prepared to walk into the next audition room, professional or not, with an audition song book, a professional headshot and resume, and the self confidence to show the world what makes them special!

Students will:

• Prepare to audition for professional musical theatre productions

• Prepare to audition for the nation’s most competitive college musical theatre programs or professional productions

• Discover how to share their own unique qualities with an audience
• Learn how to develop a character 

• Expand knowledge of musical theatre repertoire

• Learn about the history of musical theatre

• Learn “the business of the business”
• Refine their abilities as a solo performer

• Learn to perform in intense, challenging group numbers

• Learn to belt and riff (& learn when it is better not to!)

• Hone their skills in a multitude of dance styles (Jazz, Ballet, Tap and Contemporary)

• Rehearse and perform a showcase to put the skills rehearsed into practice

• Help developing a professional looking resume
• Help developing an audition song book to prepare for any curve ball 
• A trip to NYC to see a Broadway show

PRICING
This program is capped at 30 students. Open to ages 13 – 19. 
July 20 – August 8, 2020 at the STAR Theatre in Kittery ME as well as off-site locations throughout the session.

Cost: $3500 and a registration fee of $58.82
