Item Description
The Shortstop was written by Zane Grey. John Thorn, the official MLB historian wrote, "What makes The Short-Stop more than a curio for the second-hand-book trade is that it does tell a good story; it provides a peephole into the past, an engaging view of ordinary Americans at work and play; it presents moral dilemmas that are as relevant today as they were at the turn of the century; and, for all its theatrical qualities, the book does flow from the experience and observation of Grey himself, who knew baseball as no other major American novelist has. "
This is copy is from the fourth printing of the novel. It is in excellent condition, lacks a dust jacket, and has a name inscribed.
