Item Description
Hall of Famer Michael Strahan spent his entire career with the New York Giants, where the defensive end led Big Blue to two Super Bowl appearances and a victory over the undefeated New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII. 1998 was an All-Pro season for Strahan as he recorded 15 sacks and had a 24-yard interception returned for a touchdown against the Washington Redskins at Giants Stadium on September 6th. Strahan wore this blue New York Giants helmet during the 1998 season where he recorded 53 solo tackles along with his 15 sacks. This dark blue helmet has a slightly raised red stripe down the center and GIANTS decals adhered to each side in white. The NFL shield decal and Strahan’s number “92” are affixed to the lower back left of the helmet and the warning decal is on the lower back right. The face mask is all-white and the helmet displays excellent use with numerous abrasions and scuff marks and comes with its original chinstrap. The inner padding is still intact and Strahan signed his name in silver marker and added “92” on one side, while inscribing “Game Used All Madden” and “1st Team All Pro/15 Sacks” on the other side. This is a great early career helmet from one of the best defensive ends in NFL history and comes with a full LOA from Michael Strahan, who authenticates he used this helmet during the 1998 season. This helmet has also been photo matched by Resolution Photomatching to the December 6, 1998 game.
