Item Description

Get up close and personal with some wonderful rescued animals at West Sonoma County’s farm animal sanctuary ‘Goatlandia’. Rub a pig's belly, scratch a goat's behind the ears, and hug a turkey. No, really! Our turkey Cesar LOVES a hug!
Your sanctuary tour will last 1 1/2 hours, and you’ll get to meet many wonderful animal souls, hear their stories, and learn about our compassionate eco lifestyle. And enjoy some organic plant-based bites!

Goatlandia is an animal sanctuary that rescues farm animals and educates the public about the choice for a compassionate lifestyle. In addition to providing a safe and loving forever home to our own feathered and furry family, we also place our rescued animal friends into other loving homes through our adoption program.
We do all kinds of events both here at the sanctuary and out in the community. We try to be as eco-minded as possible: we gather and reuse rain water and grey water, generate solar power, compost our own scraps for use in the garden, grow some treats for our family, and try to help encourage others to do the same. Goatlandia is a place for people to experience compassion, have fun and do cool things together.

Goatlandia started after its founder, Deborah Blum, moved from San Francisco to NW Santa Rosa. A former commercial pilot and restaurant owner, Deborah gave up the city life and has devoted herself to the belief that all beings deserve to be happy, and to live free of harm and fear. The newly acquired acreage enabled her to have space for a few chickens and a couple of goats. One thing led to another - her love of farm animals grew, as did her furry and feathered family. Almost all of animals were destined for slaughter, unwanted, sick or born with birth defects. They were rescued, healed, made to feel safe, and very loved (and a little spoiled). Today Goatlandia is home to 26 goats, 6 pigs, 47 chickens, 3 ducks, 2 sheep and 3 dogs and three happy and busy humans. We are a federally recognized 501(c)3 non profit, and are grateful to be a part of the community! We look forward to our future growth, and to expanding our property, our services and our family.
