Item Description
A monumental nearly four foot long, finely hand-carved and hand-painted wooden effigy of a galloping horse from the Taisho period (1912-1926).
Dimensions: 29 inches tall and 43 inches long
Note the unusual butterfly joints in the base piece.
There are remnants of the original gray white paint still visible.
Provenance: Private collection Shiga Prefecture, Japan
