Item Description
A cache of 25+ old Chinese and Japanese bamboo paint and calligraphy artist brushes dating back to the 1930s.
The bundle includes new and used examples some still in their original mint encasements never before used. Many bear the original old manufacturer name and label. These are the genuine older ones, some have original goat hair bristle. Goat hair was often used for best bristle and painting success. For thick wide tipped brushes, the tips consists of two types of goat bristles. The outer bristles are normal goat hair which has the known characteristics of high ink absorbency whereas the inner bristles are made of goat beard hair which has a far higher resilience. This combination gives strength to the tip making brushes with this combination sought after high quality.
Large and small fine brushes included, 25 different brushes in all. Longest brush is 10 inches long and shortest brush is 6 inches in length.
