Item Description
This collection includes:
Bellavista Brut Alma Cuvée NV, Franciacorta, Lombardy, Italy
Wine Spectator 89:
Sparkling - complex and traditional; 77% Chardonnay, 22% Pinot Nero, 1% Pinot Bianco. Well-knit and fresh, with a creamy bead and flavors of smoked hazelnut, dried apricot and ripe black raspberry. Citrusy finish.
Freemark Abbey Chardonnay 2017, Napa, California
Wine Advocate 94+:
The 2017 Chardonnay (no malolactic fermentation) offers notes of fresh pineapple, honeydew melon and lemon tart with touches of allspice, shaved almonds and lanolin. Medium to full-bodied, the fruit hits the palate with amazing freshness and vivacity, sporting loads of citrus and spice notions and finishing long. Drink 2019-2025.
Kofererhof Pinot Grigio 2015, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy
Straw yellow in color with green hints. Fruity and flowery on the nose with intensity and persistence. Notes of banana, citrus, acacia flowers and minerals. Dry, fresh and full-bodied on the palate. Quite intense and persistent with a very long and fruity finish.-Importer notes
Langlois-Chateau Crémant de Loire Brut NV, Loire, France
Wine Access:
A beautifully complex Crémant, easily confused for a top-shelf Champagne. In the glass, finely delineated beads of the Langlois-Chateau Crémant de Loire Brut NV burst with ripe apple and pithy grapefruit notes. Round and elegant on the palate with lively acidity, complex citrus notes are underscored by roughly 10% of reserve wines blended in from exceptional vintages, which unfolds in creamier layers hinting at baked fruit and notes of brioche. Excellent length and tension on an energetic and crisp mineral finish.
Chalk Hill Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2007, Sonoma, California, USA
Wine Advocate 90; Wine Spectator 89:
This has a lean, refreshing profile on account of the zingy acidity, with lime, passion fruit, green apple and fresh grass notes. Admirable for its focus and mouthwatering intensity.
Verget Macon-Bussieres Le Clos 2007, Burgundy, France
Vinous 89:
Pale straw-yellow. Cool nose hints at fresh peach and subtle minerality. Suave, smooth and nicely dry but also boasts good fruit ripeness and less bitterness than the Viré-Clessé. This wine is less concentrated (60 hectoliters per hectare vs. 40) but more harmonious and better suited for early drinking. The alcohol is a moderate 13%, but this nicely balanced wine does not lack for personality.
