Item Description
Get a behind-the-scenes tour of the Exploratorium with Senior Scientist, Julie Yu. Julie provides science content support throughout the museum and works with teachers to bring inquiry-based science learning to their classrooms. With a broad interest in all sciences, she has a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, with a minor in molecular and cell biology. Her work and research have spanned from viruses and stem cells to teacher learning and inquiry to concrete and cement. This has led to a myriad of opportunities, including teaching science to Tibetan monks and nuns, launching an explosion of 2000 ping pong balls, and acquiring a US patent.
Please contact Julie by September 1, 2020 to schedule your visit.
Tour is for 4 people ( adults & kids) and includes admission to the museum, the tactile dome, and lunch at the Sea Glass restaurant at the Exploratorium. ($100 gift certificate for Sea Glass)
Julie suggests that an ideal day to schedule your tour is on March 14 for Pi Day which was invented at the Exploratorium. It's a special day with many events & free pie!
