Item Description

Spend a week at the glorious Le Domaine du Chat in Les Cévennes in Southwest France. Here you can relax in a classic country 'mas' that comes with six bedrooms, a swimming pool, and an olive grove. The house has extensive private grounds and is 15 minutes by foot from the village of Monoblet. Nearby attractions include a grotto, medieval castles, and a steam train--not to mention extensive hiking trails.

Guests need not worry about anything: bedding, towels, and cleaning are all taken care of. The housekeeper, Sylvie, lives on the premises in a separate apartment and is there to greet visitors. Le Domaine du Chat is a one-hour drive from Nîmes, which is 3 hours from Paris by TGV. The largest nearby airports include Montpellier and Marseille, both of which have PDX flights with just one connection in Amsterdam.

La Maison is available in September or any time from May to early October excepting the period from mid-June to the end of August. The owners, who live in Paris, open the pool in May and close it in early October. Confirmation of dates depends on availability at the time of booking, but booking for a subsequent year is possible if bidders prefer.

The owners, who have generously donated their property for bidding, were first introduced to our Alliance many years ago when Joe and Nicole Rivlin stayed at their Paris apartment. They rent their Paris and Cévennes homes through word of mouth. Guests - many of them from our Alliance - always report back with glowing reviews. Please don't hesitate to email info@afportland.org for the Fainsilbers' contact info.

Can be redeemed in 2021 or 2022 by arrangement with the owners. Not available May, July, August, Halloween and X-mas/New Year.

Certificate/gift card to be mailed to winner.
