Hebrew is both an ancient and a modern language, and easier than you might think. In four hours of instruction you'll learn the Hebrew alphabet, read a little of the Hebrew Bible in its original language, and be empowered to compose your own English translation of a couple of Biblical verses, to be chosen by you or me. Or, learn how to say a few easy phrases in Modern Hebrew the way it's spoken in the Holy Land of the 21st century.
Item Special Note
One hour of instruction in Biblical or Modern Hebrew, for one or two adults. Meet with teacher in-person at Walden Pond, or in Concord or Lincoln, or online in real time via Skype. Session is to be arranged at mutual convenience of high bidder and donor.
Natasha Shabat learned Hebrew as an adult and has been teaching full-time to adults since 1997, in congregations, community centers, and private homes. Her students – whom she teaches in groups, individually, by telephone and Skype -- include rabbis and rabbinical students, cantors, lay leaders, Me’ah graduates, Hebrew-school teachers, Hebrew-school drop-outs, and Jews-by-choice, Christians, and linguists. Her students include doctors, lawyers, professors, business leaders, homemakers, grandmothers, great-grandfathers, Westpoint graduates, and Christian clergy. Natasha is a graduate of Harvard University in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations.
