Item Description
Up to 10 guests will travel through time with this exclusive, private, after-hours Tour of the historic Ford’s Theatre including the Museum, as well as the opportunity to view inside the Presidential Box.
Ford’s Theatre is the premier destination in Washington, D.C. to explore and celebrate President Abraham Lincoln’s life and legacy. Ford’s is a national historic site and living tribute to the life and leadership of an extraordinary man, and the enduring legacy of his values and his vision.
On the night of April 14, 1865, actor and Confederate sympathizer John Wilkes Booth sneaked into the Presidential Box and shot President Abraham Lincoln. Today, the theatre looks very much the way it did that fateful night. The Presidential Box is decorated with American flags and a portrait of President George Washington, just as it was in 1865.
Come immerse in America’s past while revealing important connections and parallels to today. See historical artifacts from those events and learn more about the importance of Lincoln’s presidency—and its untimely end—to our nation’s history. Learn how Lincoln’s guiding principles are reflected in their own lives. Empowered by these principles, they become leaders in their communities.
Item Special Note
Tour is by appointment only.
