Item Description
Once a private mansion owned by an art enthusiast, and formerly the site of the Baltimore Museum of Art's inaugural exhibition in 1923, the 101 West Monument Street address that is home to Hotel Revival boasts a rich past rooted in art. In a nod to this history, a prominent art narrative is woven into Revival’s design and guest experience, with the goal of making art and culture more accessible to all who experience the hotel. Much of the hotel’s art is even available for purchase from the hotel’s many partners.
Revival’s design is led by Philadelphia-based SLDesign, and its renovations by Baltimore-based SM+P Architects. The boutique hotel’s design embraces the building’s place in Mount Vernon’s history, namely, its origin as a multi-family dwelling. Subsequently, the design of the hotel’s 107 guest rooms reflects how Revival’s former residents might have lived in the space during an extended period, with multiple design styles that converged over time. Revival embodies its name and Peacock emblem by contributing to the renewal of the historic neighborhood through a vibrant guest experience, new restaurants and signature bars, while simultaneously embracing Mount Vernon’s notable history of art and culture.
