My photographic 'eye' formed, as a young teen, by absorbing National Geographic magazine. Elliott Porter's classic photographs were also a strong influence. His "In Wildness is the Preservation of the World," photos were published in 1962, by the Sierra Club. Thirty years later they awarded me their Ansel Adams Award for my Landscape Photography.

I studied journalism at Boston University and received a BS degree in Speech from Emerson College. By the time I graduated, I'd learned the importance of clarity when communicating with images and words.

Ten years later, I lived as a monk in the foothills of the Himalayas for seven years. I found peace in a hut by the side of a river full of nature and wild creatures. In photographs, I portray the sense of awe and wonder I experienced there. My goal is to inspire others to step into the forest and breathe deep! I suggest we all learn to express the clarity of thought discovered there in our spoken - written words, and actions.

With my photographic art, I want to reconnect our eyes and heart with the grace and healing power of the natural world.

Nature lovers and corporations around the world own my photographs. These include Disney; Toyota; Coors; IBM, Taco-Bell, Barnes and Noble, Random House, Hallmark, Vail Associates, The Environmental Defense Fund, The Nature Conservancy, The Sierra Club, CH2MHill. I have also done significant Hospitality interior design projects for Luxury Spa Resorts and Hotels.
