Her Excellency Dato Nor’Aini Abd Hamid, the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Canada is pleased to offer an exclusive invitation to a private meal (choice of lunch or dinner) for eight (8) guests at her residence in Ottawa.
The date and time will be arranged with the highest bidder once the COVID-19 social distancing restrictions have been lifted.
About the Her Excellency Dato Nor’Aini Abd Hamid:
Her Excellency Dato’ Nor’ Aini Abd Hamid joined the Foreign Ministry in 1994, after completing a bachelor of arts in sociology from University of New Haven, Connecticut, U.S.A. and a master’s of arts in linguistics from Leicester University, United Kingdom
Her Excellency Dato’ Nor’Aini Abd Hamid is the fifteenth High Commissioner for Malaysia to Canada. Prior to her appointment to Canada, Her Excellency Dato’ Nor’Aini Abd Hamid was the Deputy Secretary General of Management Service, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held several key position in the Ministry such as Director General of ASEAN Department, Undersecretary of Inspectorate Division, Principal Assistant Secretary in the bilateral and multilateral divisions and served as a resident Ambassador in Uzbekistan, with concurrent accreditation to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Prior to that, she was also posted to the United States of America (U.S.A.) and Germany.
About the High Commission of Malaysia in Canada:
Diplomatic relations between Malaysia and Canada was established in 1957 immediately after Malaysia (then was named Malaya) gained her independence. The first High Commissioner of Malaysia to Canada was Tan Sri Ong Yoke Lin who presented his credentials on 18 April 1967. He was at the time based in Washington.
Malaysia established its resident mission in Canada on 11 April 1968. The first resident High Commissioner of Malaysia was Dato’ Mohd Ismail Yusof. The High Commission’s Chancery Building located at 60 Boteler Street , Ottawa was purchased by the Government of Malaysia in 1974. To facilitate and encourage bilateral trade between the two countries, the Malaysia Trade Office (MATRADE) was established on 15 October 1974 in Toronto.
