Item Description
This photo was captured by James Daugherty, United States Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) Board of Directors while he was on site at CCF Somaliland. The cubs photographed here are being cared for at a CCF safehouse in the horn of Africa.
Somaliland Cheetah Conservation Fund Cubs - were saved from the frontlines of the illegal wildlife pet trade. CCF Somaliland currently has over 30 cubs that have been confiscated and there are more under investigation. The scenario remains the same, most cubs are too young to be separated from their moms and they arrive frightened with health issues.
To prevent poaching for the illegal pet market we need to raise awareness on a community level and educate people about the destructive impact of the trade. People are not fully aware of how the trade impacts the wild population and they are not always aware that for each cub they buy, several more die in the process of being taken from the wild to be sold. Unless we can stop the poaching of cubs on the ground, we will continue to see sick and frightened young animals that need our help.
Measures 15" x 20" printed/mounted.
When you purchase this photo, you support CCF's holistic educational programs not limited to the Illegal Pet Trade in the horn of Africa.
Thank you in advance for your kind support.
