Item Description
Adidas Skateboarding and Metropolitan team up for this technical collection inspired by 90s drift racing and import car culture. This Spring 20 release features nostalgic race aesthetics which make use of bold colour palettes, 3D graphics, high-vis accents and performance design. “We all had imported tuned-up cars, like ridiculous Honda ’97 Civic DX's with spoilers,” says Metropolitan founders Keith Hufnagel and Hanni El Khatib. “We both had a ’97 Integra with blacked-out lenses and stuff. That’s the vibe and a treasure chest of design inspiration. All of this sparked from these Japanese import illegal drift racing videos, pre Fast & Furious in the mid ‘90s. They feel underground and illegal, which they were.” Harking back to the lights and colours of street racing, the collection includes an adidas ZX8000 shoe in a black colourway with reflective details. The shoe makes use of Torsion Bar technology, giving it extra support and adaptability. It features a mixed material upper comprised of Honey Buck leather and reflective toe overlays. The silhouette is completed by ripstop technology, a rubberised branded tongue and a stylish transparent outsole.
This Collection includes the ZX8000 X Metropolitan shoes, polar track top, and matching pants. We will do our best to accommodate sizing to the winner
Item Special Note
Maven was started by Trina Zide and Brendan Foster in August of 2005. The goal from the start was to be a cultural hub for skateboarding in Vermont; by advocating for a new skatepark, hosting art shows, hosting film premiers, and supporting like-minded businesses and non-profits in the area. Maven carries only the brands that are true to skateboarding, and focuses on smaller/skater owned companies that exist because of their passion for skateboarding.
