Item Description
Alisa Singer, a featured artist in the North Museum's STEAM Art Gallery, shares her large-scale, inspiring print: Projected Share of Renewable Electricity Generation. 2016
Alisa Singer's digital paintings, derived from graphs, charts and other scientific data, use contemporary abstract art to challenge and expand the way we think about climate change.
The pictured graph shows that the percentage of total electricity generation from renewable energy sources in the US was projected to grow from 13% in 2013 to as much as 22% in 2040 based on a 2015 report by the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Since this work was created in 2016, the news has gotten better! The actual renewable share was already 28% in 2018 and is projected to grow to 49% of global electricity generation by 2050.
