Item Description

This unique ensemble is made from 6mm and 10mm faceted Botswana Agate round stones.  The necklace is 24 inches in length and features pewter accents and an ornate pewter toggle.  The earrings have a 3/4 inch drop below the ear wire which is stainless steel.

Botswana Agate is a type of banded Chalcedony which is a mineral of the quartz family. It is usually banded in shades of cream, pink, and gray. However some layers may contain a muted brown or apricot. It is typically untreated. Botswana Agate is mined in Africa. It is often referred to as the 'Sunset Stone'. It was traditionally used in African fertility ceremonies to encourage potency and conception. Botswana Agate was produced by volcanic activity nearly 187 million years ago. The extra fine banding and patterns make each Botswana Agate stone highly unique and desirable.

Botswana agate is said to stimulate the exploration of the unknown and the quest towards enlightenment. It is also said that Botswana agate can be used to treat nervous system disorders and help to rid the body of toxins. It is also reputed to aid with depression and stress.

The necklace is strung on multistrand Beadalon beading wire. All ends are run through wire protectors, crimped, and crimp covers applied.
