Item Description
Work with the artist, who will create a 16” x 20” painting inspired by your vision, whether it’s capturing your favorite spot on the Cape or a special person in your life.
Peter is a self-taught artist, who until recently, had expressed his creativity through his vocation creating custom home renovations, murals, signs and logos. An oversized blank canvas given to him by his artist sister sparked his creative juices, and it became his first work, “The Wreck of the Essex”. He was then gifted the late Eastham historian, teacher and artist Jim Owen’s canvases and brushes, furthering Peter’s journey into oils and acrylics. He has been painting ever since.
A fisherman and a sailor, Peter’s passion for the water around Cape Cod has been the driving force behind his work. He has a keen eye and attention to detail, using his background in mechanical drawing, building, and engineering, which allows him a unique perspective, painting in a realistic genre that shows both motion and emotion. His paintings typically feature his two favorite subjects: his love of maritime history, and his two children (both of whom have participated in Cape Rep’s Young Company).
The painting seen here, “Bees River” is an example of the artist’s work, but the successful bidder will work with the artist to create a custom, commissioned piece.
