Captain Andy Kurtz warmly welcomes you and five guests to join him aboard his beautiful Columbia 57 sailboat, Angelique, for a private cruise on the San Francisco Bay. Complete with wine and appetizers! Prior to sailing, the boat will be cleaned for passenger safety.
ABOUT CAPTAIN ANDY & ANGELIQUE
Andy Kurtz has been Sailing since 1966. He grew up in the Bay Area sailing first on Tomales Bay and then on San Francisco Bay. While living in the Bay Area, Andy had a marine repair business based in Sausalito for eight years. In 1994 he sailed his Ericson 32 to Hawaii and continued fixing boats in the charter fleet on Maui until 1998 when the South Pacific's call was too much... He went sailing...
Two years and 20,000 miles later he returned to Hawaii, and, not wanting to grind fiberglass anymore Andy decided to use his Captains License and started driving boats in the charter industry. Four years later, wanting to be his own boss again, Andy found Angelique in Florida, purchased and sailed her back to Hawaii and started his charter business. Time passed and Andy decided to move back to the Bay Area in order to pursue a long-time dream of ocean adventure passages and ocean passage instruction.
Andy has been a licensed 100 ton master/captain for over 20 years. He has accrued 30+ ocean crossings and over 85,000 miles as vessel master and/or owner in both sail and power boats. Andy has sailed as the master on vessels ranging from 8' prams to 151' to square rigged ships. In addition to his captain license, Andy has a Sailing and Towing endorsement. He enjoys working with students through the NauticEd program, where he is a level V instructor.
Today you will find him blasting around San Francisco Bay or somewhere "out there" with groups of up to six guests on Angelique, sharing his love of sailing and entertaining with his easygoing style.
Angelique is a big, roomy boat – 57 feet of speed, in fact! Her hull speed is around 13 knots. She features the latest and greatest in sailing tech, and a comfortable roomy cabin and galley down below.
