Item Description
Photobook in English and Danish authored by Finn Fons.
160 pages
Danish born photographer Finn Fons has followed the training vessel DANMARK through six years and created this photo book about the ship and life on board.
The training vessel DANMARK is beauty at sea. Moving with the waves and the wind, it is one of the most graceful and beloved sailing ships in the world. And in American waters, it sails first among the foreign ships.
The good ship DANMARK remains a symbol of the strong bond between the US and Denmark. During WWII, the captain of DANMARK chose to join the US war effort and more than 5,000 American naval officers started their service by training in the rigging of DANMARK.
Still today the Danish ship often crosses the Atlantic and is greeted by many into the American harbors, as not just former cadets have grown fond of this Danish legend.
