About the Artist

Adrienne D. Keats Calligraphy, Community Artist

Calligraphy is like the practice of medicine, it takes years of  instruction and practice. To continue her education, Adrienne has participated in many classes with Internationally acclaimed Calligraphers. Her most memorable and favorite classes have always involved Copperplate style calligraphy which is written with Pointed Pen.  Whenever she has the opportunity, she will go to great lengths/or distances to study with Pat Blair (head Calligrapher for the White House), Mike Kecseg or Michael Sull...all tops in their field!

As a child, Adrienne was surrounded by the arts, from sculpting to classical piano. Having tried her "hand" in these, her true love for calligraphy emerged.  Creating elegant hand lettered Invitations, Envelopes, Place Cards, Escort Cards, Menus, Wedding Vows, Nametags and Certificate fill-ins, etc. has become her passion.  Each project allows Adrienne to create something original and unique.

Adrienne is a member of Friends of Calligraphy in San Francisco, CA; Society of Scribes in New York, NY and Society for Calligraphy in Los Angeles, CA.
