Item Description

Old-world charm and luxury — walk to the Plaza!

Located in a quiet old neighborhood just a 15-minute walk from the plaza, this 2-bedroom, 2-bath real adobe home is just a few years old but gets its historic feel from rustic beams, a claw-foot tub, antique doors, and brick floors. It is furnished with vintage and new pieces and decorated with original art and southwestern details. Enjoy wi-fi, satellite TV, front and back courtyards, sunroom, hot tub, shady ramada, fenced yard, and attached garage with ski and snowboard racks. 1 ADA suite.

Built from the ground up in 2015 by a local contractor who also specializes in historic renovations, this is a classic New Mexico Territorial-style home with all of the modern conveniences (including wi-fi, multiple USB ports, and a printer). The great room features a large dining table, comfortable queen sleeper sofa, leather easy chairs, a gas fireplace, and an entertainment center (DISH TV and satellite radio). The large, fully equipped kitchen is a joy to work in with a pantry, island, retro range and refrigerator, farmhouse sink, and coffee station. The staples you need to cook with are all provided.

The gas kiva in the master bedroom is just steps from the romantic, hand-wrought iron queen-sized bed with a "hybrid" (innerspring and memory-foam combined) mattress and down-alternative bedding. Beautiful Mexican tiles surround the shower and clawfoot tub in the large master bath.

The guest suite evokes a ranch-feel, with vintage twin beds covered with authentic Pendleton blankets, and a rustic-styled ADA compliant bathroom.
In the cheerful portál (sunroom), have breakfast on the glass-topped table or lie back and read on the large pillows on the vintage daybed. Throughout the house are antique and vintage wooden doors and southwestern art and collectibles.
Sit on the front porch and enjoy the beautiful courtyard garden and the sunset over the elms and cottonwoods across the street, or use the grill and have dinner outside in the fenced backyard with its brick courtyard, fountain, shady ramada, flagstone paths, flower gardens, native grasses, and young stone-fruit trees.
In the winter, take off your ski-boots on the mudroom bench and slip them onto the boot dryer, and then wrap up in a cozy robe and go for a soak in the hot tub.

If you'd rather eat out at one of Taos' many great restaurants than cook, you can walk to the Plaza in 15 minutes, or down the street to the lovely El Monte Sagrado resort in less than 5.

Please note that the bedrooms do not have televisions.

The entire house, including the garage, enclosed front courtyard and fenced back yard (great for your dog!) are yours to enjoy.
