These happy innocent stories of a family with two sets of twins were part of the mighty Stratameyer empire. Like other series published by this group, the stories were in such great demand that they were often reprinted with little regard for things like original publication dates. The books first became popular in the earliest part of the Twentieth century so many publication dates are much earlier than the ones listed below. The earlier versions often had to be updated so that racial and ethnic slurs were not quite so casually included. I can only imagine the revisions to #35. And, sorry to say, there really is no Laura Lee Hope to chronicle Bobbsey Twin adventures although she might still be writing them some place.
