Come enjoy our dog-friendly off-grid cabin and surrounding 93 acres located just 45 minutes out of Boulder. It’s a place with history, character, abundant wildflowers and wildlife, as well as easy access. We're located one mile up a private dirt road coming off Highway 7, about 15 minutes from Lyons. High-clearance 2-wheel drive vehicles can navigate the bumpy road to our place, for instance, rental cars from Denver International Airport, about 90 minutes away.

The cabin is rustic but functional, with a small propane refrigerator and gas stove for cooking as well as a wood cook stove. We heat with firewood (plenty waiting for you), draw good water from our well, and read by solar power. The nearby outdoor cook-out area is a great place for BBQs (gas, charcoal or wood) or storytelling around an open fire. You'll also find plenty of cookware, a full bathroom with shower, and room for at least four people in two bedrooms as well as a screen porch. We have plenty of linens. 

Take a break! The cabin has a landline but no cell service and no internet. Bring your own music, listen to the radio, or try some of our old LP records. There a lot of board games, too. 

Children of all ages will love climbing on the rocks and exploring the meadow. You can take leisurely walks around the meadow, hike to the top of the peaks surrounding the meadow for fabulous views, or take the short hike to secluded Egg Lake. For longer hikes, the US Forest Service trail to the Dry St. Vrain river is just down the road.  Rocky Mountain National Park is a beautiful 45-minute drive away. If you’d like to explore the area, we have all the maps you could ever want!

We’ll “check you in” to the cabin at the end of the meadow and then leave you in peace. You'll be on your own but we can also stay nearby to answer your questions or help out. Fire safety is critical.

Owner of property is happy to work with you on scheduling the perfect get-away between the date of mutual convenience, mid-June through mid-September, weekend or weekdays! No expiration date.
