Item Description
2020 Best of Show Sculpture at the Alameda County Fair.
From the artist: I work in varied techniques, such as raku, electric fired, reduction fired, pottery and sculpture. I seek the Japanese aesthetic of wabi sabi, the discovery of beauty in imperfection, impermanence, and the incomplete. I like to work within the parameters of a vessel, honoring that tradition of practicality even if the final form is not really useful. There is a dynamic to the enclosed space within a vessel, and an ancient tradition that is both sacred and mundane.
- 11" tall by 6.5" wide
