Item Description
7"H, 10"W. 9" x 12" with backing. Tapestry is woven on cotton warp with Norwegian wool weft. Statement from artist, "When I put up an exhibit of Scandinavian tapestries in 2019, I was charmed by many Swedish tapestries featuring flowers on a warm brown background. I wove my own floral tapestry with a Minnesota connection, a comment about the constant distressing news about the demise of bee populations. I abstracted photos of three Minnesota pollinator flowers, important for bees-purple coneflower, butterfly weed, and purple prairie clover."
