Item Description
Unique aerial photos of the Chartres labyrinth being walked by a group of people. A couple of decades ago I was good friends with Francois Legaux, then rector of Chartres Cathedral. He has given me a number of rare and unique gifts including this one. To show the path pattern of the Chartres labyrinth, he had a group of people walk the labyrinth in single file (and then exit out the top labryses) while taking photos from the keystone in the vault above. There are fifteen 5x7 black-and-white photos (two sets of each) of very excellent quality as they were taken by a large format camera. Also included are the negatives (4” x 4 1/2”) for each photo. As far as I know this is the only set of these photos. Besides being very interesting, it is certainly a collector’s item.
Item Special Note
This is the most valuable and unique item I have in the auction.
