Item Description
Check the temperature beautifully with this Galileo thermometer!
This thermometer is based on a discovery by Galileo Galilei (1564-1642). It works on the principle that the density of a liquid changes as the temperature varies. Each of the glass balls is differently weighted. As the temperature rises, the liquid in the cylinder becomes less dense, and the heavier balls sink to the bottom. The lowest ball within the group at the top of the cylinder tells the current temperature.
Cylinder is 17.5 inches high, with a 2 inch circumference. The base is 3 inches wide.
