Item Description
The successful bidder for this item will be able to schedule a solitary one week winter or spring retreat between January 15 to April 30, 2021, at Chamma Ling Colorado Retreat Center in Crestone.
Chamma Ling's cabins are well designed, comfortable, and provide all amenities. They are finished with hardwoods and Southwestern stucco exteriors. All have porches and views.
Chamma Ling Colorado, a retreat center located along the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range near the small town of Crestone, was founded by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche in 2001. Small and large group teaching retreats from the ancient Bon tradition of Tibet are offered throughout the year. Solitary retreat cabins are the primary focus on the center, offering the solo practitioner the powerful experience of stillness, silence, and spaciousness during personal retreats lasting from a week to many months. A beautiful Community House accommodates small retreats and local practice groups at various times of the year.
Note: Visitors should have already received instruction from an acknowledged teacher on the meditation methods to be used during the retreat.
Item Special Note
The auction item is for a week in one of the cabins, but does not cover the additional expenses of a dark retreat. There is a $50 fee for the installation (and later removal) of the window panels to darken the cabin.
Also any meal preparation and delivery is additional. Prior to arrival, you and your retreat attendant will also discuss any special services required (grocery shopping, cooking, meal delivery, rides to and from the bus in Moffat, errands) and the RA will create an estimate for the cost of these services ($15/hour + mileage + the cost of supplies purchased).
