Artist Bio: Hayley Chronister of Hot Springs, Arkansas is a 2015 graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Chronister received a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and minored in Studio Art. She was previously awarded the Athena Art History Scholarship and the Windgate Foundation Scholarship.
Her interest in the arts sparked in elementary school, where frequent field trips were taken to the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. Chronister later interned at the arts center her senior year of college, where she gained valuable first-hand experience with the art and objects she had previously only read about. Inspired by museums and "learning by doing," she now works as an educator at the Mid-America Science Museum in Hot Springs, specifically within the Tinkering Studio, a place where science and art collide. Chronister's pendulum paintings reflect this interdisciplinary connection, both subjects being an effort to better understand the world around us.
