Item Description
Here are nine (9) Framed Fully Dressed Salmon Flies on display in a white oval mat with green background, are old traditional patterns handed down over the years by Fishermen and Ghillies from the famous salmon rivers in the British Isles.
These flies were tied by J. Robinson (ex-Hardy Dresser), Alnwick, Northumberland England.
Each fly is a masterpiece of the fly-dresser's art, an art which is on the point of disappearing as it is being replaced by modern patterns requiring less dexterity.
It follows that they are rarely used nowadays for the purpose they were originally intended, but have become highly collectible items.
Framed size is 17" tall by 14" wide.
We have two of these frames in the auction if you would like a pair - check out Lot #187.
The proceeds from this item will support CfR's Utah Program.
