Item Description
45 minute story-telling presentation to your group, by Presidio Museum Education Director Jean Baxter.
On August 20, 1775 Inspector General Hugo O’Conor of the Spanish Army decreed that a new presidio fort, Presidio San Agustin del Tucson, should be built here on the banks of the Santa Cruz River. Learn about the beginnings of our own city of Tucson through researched stories of our founders, of a famous attack, of the daily lives of the soldiers and their families.
This 45 minute presentation has been given to groups, such as New Comers’ Club, Westeners, and numerous seniors’ communities.
Jean is our storytelling docent, a Presidio board member, and serves as our Educational Director. Jean will present in traditional dress at your meeting site or via a Zoom presentation.
Hear Tucson’s history come alive!
