Porches is an intentional blend of the old and new. The beautifully detailed 19th century Victorian row houses which comprise The Porches Inn pay homage to generations of millworker families who once called them home. Retro-industrial architecture mingles with modern comforts and cutting edge technology. The result is an atmosphere that retains a certain homey, quirky spirit. The world-renowned Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA) is right across the street from The Porches Inn. In advance of your trip, the Inn can arrange for timed tickets for you for the various exhibits.  MoCA is one of the largest centers for contemporary visual art and performing arts in the country, with more than 165,000 visitors each year.

North Adams is a small, walkable city with the charm of a classic New England mill town infused with a totally artsy vibe. Visitors will find a vibrant, up-and-coming contemporary arts and crafts scene, plentiful galleries, local craft breweries, and restaurants for every taste and price range.

The area surrounding North Adams is home to dozens of cultural and recreational attractions, including the Clark Art Institute, Williams College, Mount Greylock State Reservation, Natural Bridge State Park, the Appalachian Trail, Windsor Lake, and many beautiful bike paths with views that will take your breath away. It is only a short drive to five ski areas and a dozen golf courses.

Item Special Note

This Gift Certificate is the approximate amount for a one-night stay at the Porches Inn, except on summer weekends, when the rates are higher.

Tickets to MoCA and the Clark Art Institute must be arranged in advance as part of the Porches reservation process and will have a scheduled start time, although there is no limit to the time you can spend in the museums. Additional reservations are required for some unique exhibits, and everyone is encouraged to see these amazing displays, so be sure to plan ahead.
