Item Description
Sandy was a young cat when he was given up by his owners - they were evicted and could not take Sandy with them. Our Melrose Humane Society foster mom noticed that Sandy sounded like he had a bad case of asthma and took him to the vet. They found out he had a peculiar flap of skin in the back of his throat. They felt that it not only caused Sandy to have trouble breathing, it could cause food to go down the wrong tube and end up in his lungs. He needed surgery. He had the surgery - almost $2,000 dollars - but, we felt he needed the chance to live a normal, healthy life. He recovered well....
