Item Description
Remember the old pews, replaced with chairs after construction of the new sanctuary in 2001? Chestnut wood from these pews was saved, with the hope that skilled woodworkers could turn the wood into something beautiful.
And here's a perfect example -- a Tea Tray handcrafted of chestnut with inlaid walnut and padauk. The tray measures 15 inches by 10 inches. It's amazing to think that the delicate pattern on this tray is actually thin pieces of real wood, embedded in the chestnut! And there's even an old nail hole from the pew, just to show the chestnut was recycled to make the tray. This tea tray is a piece of history, reshaped into something beautiful for the future.
