For well over 40 years, the Zingarelli family has dedicated themselves to crafting the finest wines, providing meticulous attention to the vineyards and championing Chianti Classico
DOC. Established in 1973 by acclaimed Italian film producer Italo Zingarelli, Rocca delle Macìe totals 600 hectares (1,500 acres) across six estates in Tuscany. Led today by Italo's son
Sergio, his wife Daniela and two children, Rocca delle Macìe is one of Tuscany's leading wine estates. This Chianti Classico DOCG is produced with 100% Sangiovese grapes cultivated
exclusively on the Sant'Alfonso estate. - DESCRIPTION
COLOR: Intense ruby red with garnet reflections
NOSE: Persistent aromas of ripe, red berries and plums
TASTE: Well-balanced, with forward fruit, smooth tannins and a lengthy finish - VINIFICATION
After careful selection, grapes are gently pressed and the must undergoes traditional vinification. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for a minimum of 12 months and rests an additional one year in bottle prior to release. - ANALYSIS

Hand selection of grapes, alcoholic Fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel vats for 8-10 days
plus 10-15 days of skin maceration. Malolactic Fermentation in concrete vats. Ageing 20/24 months in French oak barrels (25-35 hl), followed by another year in the bottle. - Wine description
Color: intense ruby red with garnet reflections.
Bouquet: intense and persistent with hints of small red
berries, jam and spices released by the oak giving sweet
notes to the bouquet.
Taste: wine with good structure, well-balanced
and with long-finish. - Winemaker’s recommendations
Meeting all the criteria for successful long-term ageing,
it pairs structured sauces, read meats, game dishes and
dry cheeses. Serve at 18/20 °C.

- Description: The late Italo Zingarelli, a highly-acclaimed Italian film producer best known for his classic spaghetti westerns, purchased Rocca delle Macìe properties in Castellina in Chianti in 1973 and embarked on a career as one of Chianti Classico’s more unlikely wine producers. Thanks to his dedication and passion and that of his son Sergio, who now oversees the property, Rocca delle Macìe has become one of Tuscany’s leading wine estates.
Rocca delle Macìe Vermentino di Toscana, “Occhio a Vento”(eye of the wind) is a local reference to the warm, dry Mediterranean sea breezes that influence the Casamaria vineyard in Maremma, source of this Vermentino, fostering the development of a distinctive freshness and minerality in the grapes. - PRODUCTION AREA
