Item Description

If you’ve always wanted to try karate but never had the chance, take this opportunity to be introduced to the martial arts in three (3) virtual hour-long beginner classes.  Master Tony Mastromatteo will bring his 30 years of training and instruction experience in Kenpo Karate to work with up to three (3) people, ages 8-80, and show them the basics of martial arts training, physical fitness, meditation and self-defense. 

Background

Master Tony Mastromatteo was awarded his blackbelt in Kenpo Karate in 1997 by Grandmaster Joe Esposito, and currently holds the rank of 5th Degree blackbelt.  He has trained under Grandmaster Joe Esposito since 1989.  He remains an active student and teacher of both adults and children. 

Master Mastromatteo works full-time as a sales manager in the IT software industry.  He currently serves as Board President of Plugged In, a non-profit music and philanthropy program in Needham, MA.  In 2013, he helped found the local chapter of the non-profit program Kids Kicking Cancer and currently serves as a lead instructor and steering committee member.

Master Mastromatteo grew up in Agawam, MA, and moved to Metrowest Boston after graduating from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in 1988.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from WPI.  After WPI he studied part-time at Boston University where he earned a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering in 1994.  He lives in Natick, MA, with his wife Stacey and three sons.
