Item Description

Enjoy 3 different bottles of Pinot Noir from Around the World!

2015 Dr. Heger Pinot Noir (1 bottle)

From the Tuniberg region of Baden, Germany, this Pinot Noir is sustainably grown on limestone and loess soils.  Fermented and aged in large neutral barrels and small barriques, and bottled under screwcap, as is the fashion in Germany.  This wine offers tremendous value. This is a liter-bottle of fresh, juicy, energetic Pinot Noir with great balance that is dangerously drinkable.

2014 Domaine Charles Audoin Marsannay Au Champ Salomon (1 bottle)

The tiny village of Marsannay is the gateway to France’s famous Côte-d'Or region of Burgundy. From organically farmed vines planted in 1945, the grapes for this single-vineyard Pinot Noir are hand-harvested and macerated for 15 days utilizing a substantial percentage of whole clusters, then transferred to 20% new oak barrels to age for 12 to 18 months before resting 6 months in tank. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration, with minimal sulfur.  Spicy aromas of black cherry liqueur, earth and lavender are easy to appreciate in this well-concentrated, tautly muscular and punchy wine.  With a subtle minerality helping to add lift to the palate on the focused and altogether serious finish. This suave yet structured effort is showing perfectly now after a few years of bottle age.

2014 Joseph Jewel Bucher Vineyard Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley (1 bottle)

From a steep hillside block of the sustainably farmed Bucher vineyard, providing for excellent drainage and exposure–both of which are vital to the crafting of elegant and nuanced pinot noir.  Deep ruby in the glass, with compelling aromas of black cherry, eucalyptus, and leather. This wine has a palate filled with succulent, silky textures and flavors of bing cherry and tobacco that culminate with a long, balanced finish.
