Item Description
Huge and gorgeous are the words for this vision of young birch trees in the forest. The artist describes the style as impressionistic/abstract, and this work certainly includes both. Ray Paradiso lives and works in Acton, MA.
A statement by the artist: "Creating striking images is my inspiration for painting. My work is always of the landscape and ranges from impressionistic to expressive, often blending elements of realism and abstraction to create the composition. I apply paint in heavy thick impasto strokes, using a brush for an underpainting and then using palette knives to apply texture and detail. I rarely use traditional “earthy” landscape colors and instead like to choose unusual color combinations for my works."
Details: Painting is on a gallery canvas, 60" x 48", with sides painted flat black. Ready to hang, no frame is necessary.
