Item Description

Want to give your palate a treat?

Enjoy a Massimo Rivetti Family Farm 2016 Barbaresco. This particular wine is a DOCG wine which means it is classified as one of the highest quality wines coming from Italy. It specifies not only the production area and methods for each wine, but also guarantees the quality standard of certain wines which pass a government taste test.

A 5 generation family winery Massimo Rivetti has 25 hectares cultivated under organic certification with indigenous yeast and no pesticides or chemicals used Annual production is around 100.000 bottles, mainly divided between Barbaresco and Barbera d’Alba. All the fields are grouped around Froi, Garassino and Palazzina

The tasting notes for this wine describe it in the following manner: Game, dried rose petal, new leather, clove and cool menthol aromas slowly take shape on this linear red. Reflecting the nose, the juicy, savory palate displays an earthy elegance, doling out raspberry compote, black cherry, cinnamon and a hint of cured meat while taut, noble tannins and vibrant acidity keep it balanced.

93 points from Wine Enthusiast.

The Crozes Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert 2018 has also passed stringent quality standards for French wines and is an AOC wine. Crozes-Hermitage produces primarily red wines, with Syrah the only red grape permitted under appellation rules. The tasting notes by wine enthusiast Robert Parker describe the wine as "Violets accent blackberries and plums on the nose, while the palate is full-bodied, lush and velvety, underscored by doses of salinity and licorice on the lengthy finish. (JC)   (12/2019) 93-95 points by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
